Midnight Juniper, Arizona
Midnight Juniper is a porphyry copper project located within a World-Class District just northwest of the Morenci open pit. Distal porphyry-style mineralization is observed in windows beneath post-mineral volcanic cover. Base metal mineralization occurs both as steeply dipping veinlets and as sub-horizontal mantos-style, bedding replacements. The veinlets have a preferential NE-SW orientation, which is also noted to be a control on mineralization within the Morenci deposit.
Targets include: 1) intact porphyry copper system concealed beneath post-mineral cover, 2) significant supergene enrichment, analogous to nearby Morenci deposits, and 3) potential for high grade zones of mineralization as both skarns and CRDs.
Note: The nearby mines and deposits in the region provide context for EMX’s Project, which occurs in a similar geologic setting, but this is not necessarily indicative that the project hosts similar mineralization.
