Rana

The Råna Project covers the unexplored extension of a well-known and large layered mafic intrusion near Narvik, Norway. There was a sizeable mine located along the northwestern margin of the intrusive complex which produced 8.2 million tonnes at an average grade of 0.52% Ni, 0.1% Cu and 0.02% Co (Bruvann mine and deposit). A sizeable historic resource remains in this area, which is currently controlled by a third party.

However, the mafic intrusion extends for many kilometers to the south and east of the Bruvann claims with numerous nickel and copper occurrences documented by the Norwegian Geological Survey. Crude metal zoning patterns can be deciphered that suggest potential for more Ni and PGE-rich sulfide deposits elsewhere in the intrusion. EMX now controls a large land position which includes the majority of the intrusive complex, contact zones and peripheral mineral occurrences. Several prospects on the EMX land position show provocative features:

- 1 km EM anomaly associated with massive sulfide occurrences at Saltvik
- Massive sulfide occurrences over a 200 m strike length at Eiterdalen with reported high levels of Ni, Cu and Co.
- Sulfide mineralization at the “basal” contact of the LMI at Tverfjellet

We are also in contact with the 3rd party that controls the historic claims and they seem to be willing collaborators.
