Copper King, Arizona

Copper King is a porphyry copper project in the Superior District of central Arizona. The project is located about four kilometers north of the world-class Resolution Deposit. EMX has recognized distal skarn alteration and local copper mineralization in Precambrian basement and Paleozoic limestone units. The skarn assemblages at Copper King are similar to those zoned within 200-500 meters of the 1% copper shell at Resolution (McCarrell, 2012). The system is plunging to the W-SW, with the target area concealed under weakly altered host rocks on EMX’s property.

EMX entered into an Exploration and Option to Purchase Agreement in 2016, through its wholly owned subsidiary Bronco Creek Exploration, with Kennecott Exploration Company, part of the Rio Tinto Group. The terms of the agreement include cash reimbursements, work commitments, and AMR & milestone payments, with EMX retaining a 2% NSR royalty upon Kennecott’s exercise of the option. For more information, see Company news release dated October 19, 2016.

*Nearby mines and deposits provide context for the project, but do not necessarily indicate similar size, styles or grade of mineralization within the project.
