EMX’s Broddgruvan property is located in the prolific Bergslagen mining district of central Sweden. It is one of the few historic primary cobalt producers in Sweden; shown as a cobalt locality on SGU’s CA17 occurrence compilation map (1924). Multiple styles of mineralization occur on the property including, iron oxide, cobalt, copper and nickel. The precious metal and PGE potential remain unassessed. The Broddgruvan project is available for partnership.
The geology of Broddgruvan consists of felsic and mafic meta-volcanics and limestones, some of which are skarn altered. Folding and shear processes remobilized and concentrated mineralization in fold hinges and within structural lineaments.
The 700 meter long trend of historic cobalt mines and prospects contain a polymetallic suite of Fe-Ni-Cu- and Auu along with Co making Broddgruvan an attractive exploration target for precious and energy metals.
Note: The nearby mines and deposits in the region provide context for EMX’s Projects, but this is not necessarily indicative that the Projects host similar mineralization.
