Røstvangen–Kvikne–Vakkerlien (RKV)
EMX’s Rostvangen-Kvikne-Vakkerlien Project (RKV Project) covers 2 past-producing Besshi-type Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) copper mines (Rostvangen and Kvikne), a nickel-copper deposit (Vakkerlien) and over 20 additional known mineral occurrences. Playfair has signed an Option and Exploration Agreement with EMX Royalty Corporation (EMX-TSX.V) to acquire a 100% interest in EMX’s contiguous Rostvangen and Vakkerlien properties in South Central Norway. Together the properties now cover almost 330 square kilometers in a historic mining area about 100km south of Trondheim by road.
Mineralization is thought to be thickened and enriched along fold hinges and is associated with greenstones. Further studies indicate the presence of untested mafic sequences similar to the mineralized units identified. There are several historic Cu-Co-Zn mines and prospects on EMX land position. An unpublished non-compliant historic resource exists on the projects.
Playfair plans to continue valuation of the MMI confirmed CARDS targets (particularly Grids VMS-18 and VMS-19) with diamond hole drilling in 2022.
Note: The nearby mines and deposits in the region provide context for EMX’s Project, which occurs in a similar geologic setting, but this is not necessarily indicative that the project hosts similar tonnages or grades of mineralization.
