Berenguela is a resource-stage silver-copper project located in the Altiplano of south-eatern Peru. It is an epigenetic replacement Mn-Cu-Ag style deposit. The project has seen small scale production from a number of surface pits and underground from 1906 until 1958.

The project holds a 2018 JORC Mineral Resource* of:

  • Measured & Indicated: 35.9 Mt at 85 g/t Ag, 0.79% Cu, 5.91% Mn, 0.3% Zn.
  • Inferred: 9.97 Mt at 88 g/t Ag, 0.67% Cu, 2.14% Mn, 0.20% Zn.

Berenguela is being advanced by Aftermath Silver (TSX-V:AAG) a Canadian company that optioned the project in a binding agreement with SSR Mining. Since optioning the project in 2020, Aftermath has completed an updated 2021 NI 43-101 Report and commenced an exploration drilling. EMX believes this resource stage project has real potential and anticipates results from recent exploration drilling.

EMX acquired a 1.0-1.25% NSR on the Berenguela project from SSR Mining in 2021 (See EMX Press Release dated October 21, 2021). See Aftermath Silver’s website for more project more details

*The above historical resource data was from the Valor Resources Ltd. 2018 JORC Report and Resource Estimate on the Berenguela Copper-Silver Project, Department of Puno, Peru, January 9, 2018. Reviewed and approved by Competent Person Mr. Marcelo Batelochi Chartered Member of AusIMM. EMX has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimates as current Mineral Resources as being compliant with NI43-101 standards and the EMX is not treating the historical estimate as current, however EMX believes these results to be reliable and relevant.

Note: The nearby mines and deposits mentioned above provide context for EMX’s Project, which occurs in a similar geologic setting, but this is not necessarily indicative that the project hosts similar tonnages or grades of mineralization
