Åkerberg

The Åkerberg project is located at the eastern end of the prolific Skellefte Mining District, a Paleoproterozoic greenstone belt primarily known for volcanogenic massive sulfide deposits containing high gold values. Mineralization at EMX’s project is thought to resemble that at Mandalay Resources’ Björkdal Mine.

Mineralization at Åkerberg is found in quartz veins associated with minor sulfide minerals like pyrite, pyrrhotite, and chalcopyrite. There is also a close relationship between gold and scheelite and bismuth tellurides. This represents a potential pathfinder to target during early exploration.

The Adak and Åkerberg projects were purchased by Copperhead Mineral AB (“Copperhead”), an unlisted public company in Sweden for a 9.9% equity interest in Copperhead, annual advance royalty payments, 2.5% Net Smelter Return (“NSR”) royalty interests, work commitments, and other considerations.

2 Björkdal and Norrberget NI 43-101 mineral resources were reported by Mandalay Resources, a publicly traded Canadian company (TSX:MND), in the Technical Report on the Bjorkdal Gold Mine, Sweden (effective date December 31, 2022; reviewed and approved by Qualified Person Reno Pressacco, M.Sc.(A), P.Geo; https://mandalayresources.com/site/assets/files/3537/mnd_bjorkdal_ni_43-101_technical_report_2023.pdf). Interim mineral reserves were updated in Mandalay news release “Mandalay Resources Provides 2023 Year-End Mineral Reserves and Resources Update for the Costerfield Mine, alongside an Interim Mineral Reserves Update for the Björkdal Mine,” dated February 22, 2024 (effective date December 31, 2023; reviewed and approved by Qualified Person Rick Taylor, MAusIMM, CP). Mineral resources are inclusive of mineral reserves. Björkdal mineral reserves and resources include the Norrberget open pit. The mineral reserves and resources provide regional geologic context for EMX’s Project, but this is not necessarily indicative of the mineralization on the Project.

*Nearby mines and deposits provide context for the project, but do not necessarily indicate similar size, styles or grade of mineralization within the project.
