Dragons Tail, Arizona

Dragons Tail is a porphyry copper project within the world-class Superior Mining District, Arizona. Surface alteration indicates the presence of a porphyry system beneath post-mineral volcanic cover. Tertiary, post-mineral, normal faulting has tilted Laramide porphyry systems and mineralization in the district ~40° to the east-northeast.

Oxidized quartz-sulfide mineralization is observed over 1.6km in the Apache Group quartzite (zone extends across the entire property, along strike), and vectors towards the east beneath post-mineral cover.

EMX recognizes and is targeting this untested porphyry copper system in a world-class district concealed beneath post-mineral cover.

EMX previously entered into a Regional Strategic Alliance agreement, through its wholly owned subsidiary Bronco Creek Exploration, Inc. (“BCE”), with South32 USA Exploration Inc. (“South32”). The Agreement provided yearly funding for generative work and property acquisitions in Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico, as well as a framework to advance “Alliance Exploration Projects” (AEPs). Dragons Tail was selected as an AEP by South32, and its advancement is being funded by South32. South32 can elect to Option the project, making it a “Designated Project” which would advance under a separate Option Agreement providing for work commitments and cash payments to EMX during South32’s earn-in period, and upon earn-in, a 2% net smelter return (“NSR”) royalty interest and pre-production and milestone payments to EMX’s benefit (see Company news release dated December 6, 2018).

*Nearby mines and deposits provide context for the project, but do not necessarily indicate similar size, styles or grade of mineralization within the project.
