Superior West, Arizona

Superior West is a porphyry copper project about two kilometers west of the Resolution deposit in the Superior District of southern Arizona. Recognition of the crustal tilting and mineral and metal zoning patterns of the historic Magma Mine, together with advanced argillic alteration, suggests a porphyry source under post-mineral cover rocks on EMX’s property.

EMX executed an Option Purchase Agreement with Kennecott Exploration Company (“Kennecott”), part of the Rio Tinto Group, to acquire 100% interest in  the project, after which EMX will retain a 2% NSR royalty. To earn-in, Kennecott  must complete escalating exploration expenditures totaling US$5.5M and make annual option payments totaling ~US$1M by the 5th anniversary. After earn-in Kennecott will make  escalating advance minimum royalty and project milestone payments. See EMX news release dated May 4, 2015 for more information.

Note: The nearby mines and deposits in the region provide geologic context for EMX’s Project, but this is not necessarily indicative that the Project hosts similar mineralization.
