Royston, Nevada
The Royston porphyry project is located in the Royston mining district of western Nevada, 30km NW of Tonopah.
At Royston, a partially exposed quartz monzonite porphyry system extends beneath post-mineral volcanic and alluvial cover. Mineralization has been tilted ~50-70° W due to post-mineral extensional faulting. A central zone of strong to pervasive quartz-sericite-pyrite(ox) alteration is accompanied by highly anomalous base and precious metals anomalies, despite extensive surface leaching.
Historic exploration at the project included mapping, rock chip geochemistry, various geophysical surveys (IP-MT, magnetcs, gravity), and drilling. Strong chargeability anomalies represent QSP zones in concealed host rocks and porphyries. Highly resistive, siliceous zones within the Mina Fm. also assist in interpretation of subsurface geology. A 5-hole recon RC drilling program confirmed the presence of a strongly westward tilted porphyry of significant scale.
In January 2025, EMX executed an option agreement for Royston with Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd. During the earn-in period, the agreement provides EMX with cash payments, equity in Pacific Ridge, and required work commitments on the project. Upon option exercise, EMX retains a 3% NSR royalty, 1% of which may be bought back, in addition to AAR and milestone payments.
