Kjoli
EMX’s Kjøli project is located in the historic Røros mining district in southern Norway and consists of four mining areas in a consolidated land position. Portions of the Røros District saw production through the 1970’s including the historic Killingdal Mine within the license that produced 2.8 Mt @ 1.7% Cu, 4% Zn*.
Mineralization at the Kjøli project is VMS style, and focused in the footwall of a major regional structure (Tyndal Thrust). Deposits are principally hosted in the Røros formation. Multiple VMS-style deposits occur along trend of geology – metal contents vary from Cu-rich to Zn and Au-enriched types.
EMX partner, Capella Minerals, has focused exploration efforts using CARDS Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Mining technology. The 2021 study utilized geologic, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify zones with overlapping anomalies. The program successfully identified 13 Cu-Zn targets which will be followed up in 2022.
Notes: The nearby mines and deposits mentioned above provide context for EMX’s Project, which occurs in a similar geologic setting, but this is not necessarily indicative that the project hosts similar tonnages or grades of mineralization.
